Security Advice
Making your online experience as secure as possible.
Online services are a key part of our efforts in providing a better experience to the taxpayer. However, the advantages that online transactions provide can also give rise to the risk of fraud - individuals claiming to be someone they are not, and obtaining information they are not entitled to. We are committed to your security, but you need to be alert.
The methods fraudsters use to obtain the information they want is constantly changing, however the main risk involves the stealing of identity or access details. Please do everything you can to ensure that the identifiers and passwords you use when accessing our systems are kept secure and updated regularly. You should not divulge your online credentials to anyone. Any suspicious activity should be reported to us immediately.
We will never send notifications of a tax refund by email, or ask you to disclose personal or payment information by email. If you have received an email claiming to be from us that you suspect may be fraudulent, please forward it to
[email protected] .
